1. Acceptance of terms

By booking an appointment, ordering a home-collection kit, submitting a sample or otherwise using the services of Sahara Healthcare City — operating the Geneticlab HPV & STD testing program from Lab 606, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates — you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via SMS or email to registered patients, and the updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

2. Eligibility and consent

You must be at least 18 years old to book a test or create a patient account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany you to the clinic, provide written consent, and remain present during sample collection.

By using our services, you confirm that:

  • You are requesting testing for yourself or for a minor for whom you have legal authority to consent.
  • All information you provide (identity, contact details, medical history) is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
  • You understand that our services are diagnostic in nature and not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment from your personal physician.

3. Description of services

Sahara Healthcare City provides laboratory testing for HPV (human papillomavirus) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs / STDs), including:

  • HPV DNA testing with genotyping for high-risk strains.
  • STI panels covering chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, herpes simplex virus (HSV-1/2), hepatitis B and C, trichomonas, mycoplasma and ureaplasma.
  • Home self-collection kits with courier return.
  • In-clinic sample collection by trained clinical staff.
  • Encrypted digital report delivery and clinician follow-up.

Test availability, panels and pricing are subject to change. The current price list is displayed at booking and confirmed before payment.

4. Booking and appointments

Appointments can be booked through our website, by phone or in person. A confirmed booking requires a valid name, contact number and Emirates ID (or passport for non-residents).

For home-collection kits, you select a delivery address and a courier pickup slot at checkout. Delivery and pickup are available across the UAE. Remote-area surcharges may apply and will be shown before payment.

We make every effort to honour your chosen date and time. If we need to reschedule due to laboratory capacity, courier availability or unforeseen circumstances, we will contact you at least 12 hours in advance and offer the next available slot.

5. Payment and refunds

Payment is required before sample processing. Accepted methods are:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard).
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Cash, paid at the clinic reception before sample collection.
  • Online prepayment for home-kit orders.

All prices are quoted in UAE Dirhams (AED) and include VAT where applicable. Insurance receipts are provided on request; however, direct billing to insurers is not currently available.

Refund policy:

  • Full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before an in-clinic appointment or before a home kit is dispatched.
  • 50% refund if you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment or after the kit has been dispatched but before collection.
  • No refund once the sample has been collected or the appointment has been attended, except in cases of laboratory error occurred.
  • If a sample is rejected due to inadequate volume, incorrect collection or damage during transport, one free replacement kit or re-collection visit is provided.

6. Sample collection and patient responsibilities

You are responsible for following the collection instructions provided with your kit or explained by our staff. Failure to do so may result in an invalid or delayed result.

For home kits, you must:

  • Use only the materials provided in the kit.
  • Collect the sample within the indicated time window and temperature conditions.
  • Seal the sample in the biohazard pouch and prepaid courier bag as instructed.
  • Make the sealed package available for pickup at the booked time and location.

You must not tamper with, mislabel or substitute a sample. If we suspect sample substitution or fraud, we reserve the right to refuse processing, void results and report the incident to the relevant UAE authority.

7. Results, interpretation and follow-up

Results are delivered via an encrypted patient portal accessible through a secure link sent by SMS. Optional WhatsApp or email notifications are available.

Turnaround times are estimates from sample receipt at the lab: STI PCR results in 12–24 hours, HPV genotyping in 24–48 hours, and serology in 48–72 hours. Delays may occur during public holidays, equipment maintenance or repeat testing for quality control.

Laboratory results are factual scientific data. They do not constitute a medical diagnosis or treatment plan. A positive result requires clinical interpretation. Our clinician will contact you to explain the findings and discuss next steps, including referral to a specialist if appropriate.

We are not liable for any decisions, actions or omissions you make based on the result before speaking with a qualified healthcare professional.

8. Privacy and confidentiality

Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection, use and storage of your personal and health information as described there.

Results are released only to the registered patient through the secure portal. Third-party access requires a signed consent form submitted in advance.

9. Limitation of liability

Sahara Healthcare City performs all testing to the best professional and laboratory standards. However, no diagnostic test is 100% accurate. False negatives and false positives can occur due to biological variation, sampling issues or technical factors beyond our control.

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific test or panel in question.

We are not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential or punitive damages.
  • Losses arising from your failure to follow collection instructions.
  • Delays caused by courier services, public holidays or force majeure.
  • Actions taken by you or third parties based on results without appropriate medical consultation.

10. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit a sample on behalf of another adult without their informed, documented consent.
  • Use our services for unlawful purposes, including fraud, defamation or harassment.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our patient portal, laboratory systems or third-party integrations.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape or copy our website content for commercial purposes without written permission.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of service, legal action and reporting to UAE authorities.

11. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, laboratory methodology descriptions and the patient portal software — is the property of Sahara Healthcare City or its licensors and is protected by UAE and international copyright and trademark laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Sharjah. Any dispute arising from these terms or our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to the competent courts of Sharjah.

13. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Significant changes affecting patient rights or liability will be notified by SMS or email at least 14 days before taking effect.
